How does MyAgentOS protect against prompt injection?

Prompt injection is when a webpage, email, or document tries to smuggle instructions to your agent. MyAgentOS treats everything from the outside world as untrusted: incoming content is scanned against a library of known attack patterns and risk-scored, fenced off as outside material rather than instructions before the agent reads it, and agent replies are checked again afterwards as a second line of defence. Web access runs only through this checked route; paths that would bypass it are disabled. No AI agent on the market is fully immune to this class of attack, so we also recommend running the hosted version or a dedicated machine, and keeping sensitive details out of conversations.

What security measures does MyAgentOS have?

API keys are stored on your own machine in a file only your user account can read; they are never included in the shipped app and never sent to us. Every release is automatically scanned for leaked credentials before it goes out, and the build fails if any are found. The Mac app is signed and notarised by Apple, and updates only install if they carry a valid cryptographic signature. Outgoing text is filtered to redact anything that looks like a password or key.

Does my data stay on my machine with MyAgentOS?

Yes. Conversations, files, and workspace live on your own computer; there is no MyAgentOS cloud copy of your data and no usage analytics. Three things leave your machine, all under your control: messages to the AI model provider you choose, a periodic check for signed updates, and integrations you set up yourself such as Telegram or email. You can also point MyAgentOS at a local model running on your own hardware, for example via Ollama, in which case your conversations never leave the machine. On the hosted version, your data lives in your own private hosted instance rather than on your computer.

What is the safest way to run MyAgentOS?

Two good options. The hosted version keeps the agent entirely separate from your personal computer: whatever it reads, writes, or runs stays inside your own private instance. If you prefer running locally, install on a fresh machine, a virtual machine, or a separate macOS user account, so the agent only ever sees what you deliberately give it. We also advise keeping passwords, card numbers, and other sensitive personal details out of your conversations.
