Meal Planner
Plan the week, keep your recipes, shop by aisle, and ask a sous-chef.
The Meal Planner is four connected tools for feeding yourself without the weekly scramble: a weekly plan, a recipe library, an aisle-grouped shopping list, and a sous-chef to ask for ideas and swaps. They share one set of recipes and one active plan, so a change in one flows through to the others.
What you might use it for:
- Sorting the week in one sitting: lay out breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack for each day, then turn the whole plan into a shopping list grouped by aisle.
- "What can I make right now?": ask the sous-chef for something from what is in the fridge, or for a cheaper swap on an ingredient.
Who it is for: anyone who wants a calmer week of meals: couples and families planning together, or a single cook who is tired of deciding at 6pm.
Where to find it: the sidebar, under Home & Family: Meal Planner
(/meal-planner).
Watch first: meal-planner.mp4 (captions toggleable in your player, or load meal-planner.srt). The screen is a real recording of the product; the narration is an AI-generated voice.

Make a meal plan
Make a meal plan lays out the week as a grid: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack for every day, across up to four weeks.
- Pick a recipe for any slot from the dropdown (drawn from your library), or
- Click Regenerate the week and the agent fills every slot for you. Keep what you like and swap the rest.
- Discuss aims & brief opens the sous-chef so you can set dietary needs, a budget, or the shape of the week before you build it.

The shopping list
Shopping list turns the active plan into one list, with every ingredient the plan needs, aggregated with quantities and grouped by aisle (tinned, grains, fish, produce, and so on) so you shop in a single sweep.
- Tick off what you already have; the count updates as you go.
- The Pantry section holds staples you keep on hand; Scan photo reads a cupboard photo to fill it.
- Ask the sous-chef, on the right, for substitutions, quantities, or cheaper swaps, and it reads your list as it answers.

Recipe library and the sous-chef
- Recipe library: store your recipes, typed in or imported from a photo or a PDF, then drop them straight into the weekly plan.
- Call my sous-chef: a chat for ideas, tips, substitutions, or what you can cook right now from the fridge. It links into the plan, the library, and the list, so its answers are grounded in what you actually have.
Limits and FAQ
Do the tools share data? Yes. Recipes in your library feed the plan; the plan feeds the shopping list; the sous-chef reads all three. Add a recipe once and it is available everywhere.
Will Regenerate respect my dietary needs? Use Discuss aims & brief first to tell the agent your preferences and constraints; it plans within them and draws on the recipes in your library.
Can it read a recipe from a photo? Yes: the recipe library imports from a photo or PDF, and the pantry can be filled from a cupboard photo.
Which model does the planning? Whichever model the lane is configured to use (visible in the top bar).
